Shameless ended its run more than three years ago, but the show continues to live on in streaming.
The series, which premiered on Showtime in January 2011, starred William H. Macy as Frank Gallagher, the single father of six children in a very dysfunctional family. Over the show's 11 seasons, the Gallagher siblings —Fiona, Phillip, Ian, Debbie, Carl and Liam —fought to survive on their own as their dad struggled with alcohol addiction.
Shameless' cast also starred Emmy Rossum and Jeremy Allen White as two of the eldest Gallaghers, Fiona and Lip. In a May 2024 episode of theFilms to Be Buried with Brett Goldsteinpodcast, Macy shared that he still stays in touch with his on-screen family.
"They're all doing really well, which is great," he said. "And I feel that these sort of are my Ersatz kids, so I'm very proud of them."
Here, see what the cast of Shameless is doing today after the series came to an end in 2021.

Emmy Rossum as Fiona Gallagher
For nine seasons, Rossum played Fiona, the oldest of the five Gallagher children who hail from Chicago's South Side. The star's fierce, mother-figure character took on every challenge her dysfunctional family threw at her as she worked odd jobs to support her siblings.
The actress announced her departure from the show in August 2018 and has since appeared in A Futile and Stupid Gesture (2018), Cold Pursuit (2018) and as the titular character on the Peacock limited series Angelyne (2022).
Though Shameless fans anticipated that Rossum would return as a surprise during the show's final season, her character did not return after the season 9 finale. Series developer John Wells told Entertainment Weekly that a final appearance by Rossum wasn't possible because of scheduling and COVID-19 lockdowns, saying, "It just didn't feel safe or practical for her to come back."
